Enabling the Second Factor Authentication is free. Authentication App required, available on iOS and Android.
- Go to the Account Management section
- Find the Second Factor Authentication
- Click Enable
- Follow the steps on the Portal
- Account email access required.
- Accounts with a phone number linked will need access to confirm the request through a free SMS.
- Enabling 2FA requires an Authentication Application, available on iOS and Android devices.
- When 2FA is enabled on your Account, ten (10) Backup Codes are generated. You can create new codes or view the remaining ones at any time.
- Go to the Account Management section
- Find the Second Factor Authentication
- Click Settings
- Click Disable Second Factor Authentication
- Follow the steps on the Portal
- Access to 2FA required.
- Account email access required.
- Accounts with a phone number linked will need access to confirm the request through a free SMS.
- If you lose access to the Authentication App or don't have Backup Codes, contact Player Support.
Activating the Second Factor Authentication (2FA) requires an Authentication App.
Authentication Apps:
- Google Authenticator: iOS, Google Play
- Microsoft Authenticator: iOS, Google Play
- After Activating 2FA in your Wargaming Account, don't delete the App or you will lose access to your Account.
- If you lose access to the Authentication App or don't have Backup Codes, contact Player Support.
The Google Authenticator app is used to generate Second Factor Authentication codes on your mobile device.
Second Factor Authentication ensures greater protection for your account. To log into your account, a verification code will be required in addition to your password.
The Google Authenticator app can only be activated once Second Factor Authentication is enabled.
Google Authenticator is compatible with iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad with iOS 5.0 or later. You can set up the app with the help of a QR code on an iPhone 3G or newer.
The Google Authenticator app is compatible with devices running Android 2.1 or later.
How to install
1. In the App Store or on Google Play, type Google Authenticator into the search field. Download and install the app.
2. Open the app and tap BEGIN SETUP.
3. Add a mobile device to your account using one of the following methods:
Method 1 (QR code):
Tap Scan barcode, and then point the camera аt the QR code shown on the display of your PC.
Method 2 (secret key):
In the “Manual entry” section, enter your email address in the “Account” field. In the “Key” field, enter the secret key, and then tap the check mark at the top of the page.
4. Store your secret key in a secure place so that you can restore it if you lose access to the Second Factor Authentication.
5. Account successfully added.
6. After enabling the Second Factor Authentication, do not remove the app. If you need to remove it, make sure you disable authentication first.
7. If you removed the Google Authenticator app before disabling authentication, use the instructions from the next section of this article.
Backup codes allow access to your Account when you lose access to the Authentication App.
How to access or generate new Backup Codes:
- Go to the Account Management section.
- Find the Second Factor Authentication.
- Click Settings
- Click Backup Codes
- Generate and input an Authentication Code
- You can either check, save, or generate new Backup Codes
Good to know:
- When 2FA is enabled on your Account, ten (10) Backup Codes are generated.
- Each Backup Code can be used only once.
- After a Backup Code is used, a notification email is sent.
- Backup Codes can be created to check any time.
- Backup Codes can be generated no more than 2 times every 15 minutes.
- After requesting new Backup Codes, the old ones will be disabled.
- Store your backup codes and secret key in a safe place. Do not give them out or show them to anybody.
- Access to 2FA required.
- If you lose access to the Authentication App or don't have Backup Codes, contact Player Support.
