How to add the game folder to antivirus exceptions
- Launch Eset Internet Security. Click 'Setup' in the left pane.
- In the lower right corner, click 'Advanced setup'.
- In the left pane, click 'Detection engine' and expand the "Basic" tab.
- Scroll down through the list. Select 'Edit' in the "Exclusions" section.
- A window for editing antivirus exceptions will open. Click 'Add'.
- Select 'Exclude path' in the "Type" field, then click '[…]' in the "Path" field.
- Specify the path to the folder where World of Tanks is installed (e.g. D:\Games\World_of_Tanks) and click 'OK'.
- The path to the folder will show up in the "Path" field. Click 'OK'.
- The game path will appear in the antivirus exclusions. Click 'Save'.
- Eset Internet Security will now no longer scan the folder with the World of Tanks client. To avoid issues when connecting to the servers, we also recommend that you add the WorldOfTanks.exe file to Eset Internet Security firewall exclusions.
How to add the game to firewall exclusions
- Click 'Setup' in the left pane of the antivirus.
- In the lower right corner, click 'Advanced setup'.
- In the left pane, click 'Network protection', then 'Firewall'. Expand the "Advanced" tab and click 'Edit' in the "Rules" line.
- Click 'Add'.
- In the "Basic" tab, do the following:
– Specify the rule's name as "World of Tanks"
– Turn on the switch.
Select:
– "Direction" — 'Both'
– "Action" — 'Allow'
– "Protocol" — 'Any'
– "Profile" — 'Any profile'.
Then go to the "Local" tab.
- Click 'Add' in the "Zones" pane. Select 'Trusted zone' in the drop-down menu and click 'OK'. Then click '[…]' in the "Application" field.
- Specify the path to the WorldOfTanks.exe file (the file is located in the folder where the game is installed, e.g. D:\Games\World_of_Tanks) and click 'Open'.
- Go to the "Deleted" tab. Click 'Add' in the "Zones" pane. In the dropdown menu, select 'Trusted zone', click 'OK', then click 'OK' again.
- If everything was done correctly, both rules will appear in the list of rules in Eset Internet Security. Click 'OK' to close the settings window.
- You have successfully configured Eset Internet Security.
