Following the release of Update 9.21, in the Exterior menu, players now can not only apply camouflage, inscriptions, or emblems but also apply effects, change styles, and paint their vehicles different colors.
At the moment, new effects, paints, and purchasable styles are available for all Tier I–X vehicles.
Each style includes particular configurations of paint, camouflage, inscriptions, emblems, and visual effects. After the release of Update 9.21, players have the option to configure styles in the CUSTOM STYLE tab or change the vehicle's exterior with one mouse click in the PRESET STYLES tab.
Rental and Permanent Styles
Tier VI–X vehicles can be equipped with rental and permanent styles that completely change their exterior.
- Rental styles are also available for vehicles of other Tiers.
- Only styles are available for rent. Separate customization elements are unavailable for rent.
- Styles are rented not for a particular period but for a particular number of battles.
Adjustable Styles
Adjustable styles offer a configurable set of customization elements (i.e. camouflage, emblems, inscriptions) that can be adjusted to your taste.
Adjustable styles can be found in the Exterior menu in the Garage. Open the menu, go to the Preset Styles tab, and select the Flora style.
This style includes six camouflage patterns for each map season (18 patterns in total). You can adjust the size for each camouflage pattern. You can also select one of 10 emblems or disable their display. In addition, you can select one of two fonts and apply a three-digit number to your vehicle.
You can apply progressive decals and emblems to the adjustable style.
Progressive decals are new customization elements for vehicles. They display your playing skill and achievements to other players.
You can earn progressive decals in Random Battles. There are five different sets of conditions for in-game vehicles. Complete them to receive progressive decals.
Each progressive decal consists of 3 or 5 levels (stages) with increasing difficulty. After you complete the conditions to reach the first stage, you receive the corresponding decal. As you complete the conditions, the decals of subsequent stages become available to you.
Conditions of Receiving Decals
- Destroy a particular number of vehicles (5 levels of difficulty, rewarded with the Reaper decal).
- Earn a particular number of Top Gun and High Caliber awards (3 levels of difficulty, rewarded with the Sharp Sword decal).
- Earn a particular number of Brothers in Arms and Crucial Contribution awards (3 levels of difficulty, rewarded with the Stand as One decal).
- Earn a particular number of Ace Tanker awards (3 levels of difficulty, rewarded with the Tank Ace decal).
- Fight a particular number of battles in one vehicle (5 levels of difficulty, rewarded with the Battle-Hardened decal).
Progressive decals depending on difficulty level
As soon as you reach the next level, the stage of your decal automatically increases while the vehicle exterior is updated. The notification about the new achievement will be received after battle once your vehicle is back in the Garage.
Information about progressive decals is available in the Exterior section. In the bottom left of the screen, the new Progressive Elements tab will be displayed. It will contain information about the progression of the selected vehicle by progressive decal.
Three decals can be applied to one vehicle. A player receives the first decal for free after completing its conditions while fighting in Random Battles. Another two decals of the same stage can be purchased using gold in the game client.
The decals for completed stages will remain in the Decals section and will not disappear. You can apply several decals of different stages on tanks or SPGs.
Vehicles of all nations have a particular set of paints. You can use them to change the standard color of vehicles. At the same time, there are four to five parts that can be repainted on a suitable vehicle: the suspension, hull, gun, gun mantlet, and turret. One vehicle part requires one paint item, five parts require five paint items, etc.
Vehicles without gun mantlets will have four parts available for repainting.
Paints provide no bonus to concealment.
How to Repaint a Vehicle
- Select the vehicle part you would like to repaint: the suspension, hull, gun, gun mantlet, or turret.
- Choose a suitable paint.
- Click on Purchase to make the purchase.
Historical and Non-historical Paints
There are historical and non-historical paints. They work in different ways.
- Non-historical paints can be applied to any map type (one paint item per vehicle part).
- Historical paints must be purchased for each separate map type. For example, 15 items of historical paint are required to paint one vehicle for three map types because five paint items are needed for each map type.
By default, you will be able to see only historical paints on vehicles of other players in battle. To enable the display of non-historical paints, open the settings and disable the Hide non-historical elements option on the Game tab.
In Update 9.21, camouflage will be divided into three parts for the hull, the turret, and the gun. A camouflage is applied to each separate part, which means you can apply the same or a different camouflage to different parts of a vehicle.
In addition, you can select the size of a camouflage: small, medium, or large.
Camouflage will provide a bonus to concealment if you apply it to the hull of your vehicle. Camouflage applied to the gun or turret does not affect your concealment.
A permanent camouflage that was applied to vehicles before the release of Update 9.21 will be saved. At the same time, for all vehicles, the camouflage will be divided into three parts based on the new system.
Temporary camouflage will be removed, and you will receive compensation equal to its price.
With the release of Update 9.21, you will be able to see the exact area of application of an emblem or inscription.
Emblems and inscriptions purchased using gold will remain on vehicles. Temporary emblems and inscriptions will be removed, and you will receive compensation equal to their price.
With the release of the update, for Tier I–X vehicles, the Effects option is now available in the Exterior menu.
Now you can provide your vehicle with a unique exterior by applying paint weathering and fading effects and camouflage.
The effect is applied to the whole vehicle, not to separate parts.
These effects do not work on low graphics settings.
