How to enable the Second Authentication Factor

The second authentication factor is a special protection code used for login and account recovery.

The account is not linked to a telephone number

Enabling the second authentication factor for your gaming account is totally free. This operation is available for iOS and Android devices.

  1. Log into the Wargaming.net website and go to the Account Management section.
  2. In the Account Management section, find the Second Authentication Factor field and click Enable.
  3. To confirm the operation, click Continue.
  4. Log into the system again.
  5. An email with an activation link will be sent to the email address you use to log into the game.
  6. In the corresponding email from Wargaming.net, click the Enable button (or follow the confirmation link).
  7. Install the Google Authenticator application on your mobile phone and click Continue.
  8. Open the Google Authenticator application and start adding a new account. To do this, scan the barcode or enter your secret key manually. Click Continue.
  9. Enter the 6-digit code provided by Google Authenticator in the Activation Code field and click Activate.
  10. If the operation has been completed successfully, you will see the following message:
    Click Close.
  11. A notification about enabling the second authentication factor will be sent to your email address.
  12. The information in the Account Management section will also be updated.

If the account is linked to a telephone number

Enabling the second authentication factor for your gaming account is totally free. This operation is available for iOS and Android devices.

  1. Log into the Wargaming.net website and go to the Account Management section.
  2. In the Account Management section, find the Second Authentication Factor field and click Enable.
  3. To confirm the operation, click Continue.
  4. An SMS with a code will be sent to the mobile phone number linked to your account.
  5. Complete points 7–11 from the instruction for accounts to which phone numbers are not linked (see above).
